Prepping the Beans

Method 1

This is referred to as the picking method. You will take the beans, pour it in a bowl or a tray. Begin to pick out stones, beans chaffs, spoiled seeds and any other materials that might be mixed with it. This might include maize grains, soya beans etc.

Pour a good amount of water into the bowl after you are done with the seperation. Wash it gently to remove all the impurities and dirt. Your beans is ready to be cooked.

Method 2

This method is referred to as the washing method. In this method, you just need to add water to a bowl containing the beans and stir gently. The water will make the stones and sand mixed with the beans to sink while the beans chaff and the spoiled seeds will float.

You can then proceed to remove the chaff using your hands or a sieve. To remove the stones, you will need to carefully pick out the beans from the container to a new container till what is left over at the bottom will be the stones only. Repeat the process for two to three times to get rid of every chaff, stones and sand.

How to Cook Beans with Palm Oil 

In this section, I will show you how to put all the listed ingredients to good use in order to achieve our goal for this recipe.

Add the already prepped beans to a pot. Add water and boil gently. Depending on the type of beans you are using, it might take some time before it tenders. But if you are using honey beans or black eyed beans, there will be a great reduction in the time of cooking.

Boil the beans till it tenders, add salt, onions, pepper, crayfish, stock cubes and fish. Stir well and taste, then allow it to boil for several minutes.

Add oil and stir completely, keep stirring the beans from time to time to avoid burning. When the beans tenders completely, your delicious meal is done.
